CHAPTER 15
Sam gave a desperate tug at his feet. He only half believed that it would accomplish anything. That only added to his surprises when the force pitched him on head long on the floor. Psylocke knelt down to see if he was alright and was relieved to find that she could move freely as well. Archangel and Iceman wasted no words and went to disarm the bomb Alex had planted.
"Judging by the fact that we all can now move, I'd say the fight has concluded," Hank mused.
"Yeah?" this from Wolverine. "But what I'm not sure I wanna know is; who won?"
"Jean? Proffessor?" Scott turned to his wife and his mentor. "Can either of you find Remy telepathically?"
"We can try," the proffessor answered. He and Jean placed their hands up to their temples. Jean's face twisted in concentration. Everyone was silent as they waited. Several slow minutes past before they opened their eyes again. "I'm sorry Scott, but there is some sort of telepathic interference. It's blocking Jean's and my scan."
Jean looked hesitantly between Charles and Scott. She wandered if she ought to mention Remy's telepathic powers. But he had been so adiment to keep it a secret. Gambit had shown that he was having trouble controling his abilities, he might accidently be causing a psi-shield. That would block her scans. She didn't have too much time to mull it over though because Scott slipped into his role as team leader and called out order.
"Logan, Bishop, you two check the Northern grounds. Warren, Betsy,
check the Southern grounds. The rest of us will split up and search the
house and the immediate grounds." With that the X-men spread out to find
them.
