<`Smoot> SO why are all the channels that are devoted to and directed towards writing, the very thing that I came on the bloody IRC network for in the first place, all invite-only?
<`Smoot> I know, I know, #spam!, but come on. That place is deader than an Amish kegger.
<Mitai> #plotting is a private channel becuase it wasn't designed to give anyone help with fics.
<Mitai> It was originally built to give KJ, Brooke, Alicia, and Duey help with fics.
<`Smoot> But now, things are different.
<Mitai> Yes.  Those people invited in other writers that they believed were of high quality, friends, and needed help.

<Mitai> Frito brings up #plotting a lot, doesn't she.
* `Smoot raises his hand. This one's singly my doing.
<`Smoot> I wanted a channel devoted to writing.
<Mitai> I know.
<Mitai> I just got a message that people are tired of Frito bringing it up. Does she do that often?
* `Smoot shrugs. We fight about once a day in there. I can't keep straight what it's about half the time.
* Mitai nods.
<Mitai> Do you want an invite to #plotting?
* Mitai is an Op, and could put it to vote.
<`Smoot> But if I want a writing channel, I either have to get all buddy-buddy with the ops in #plotting (which, quite frankly, shall NEVER happen now), or set up one myself. And how many people are going to grumble behind my backs if I do that...
